I also have a cat (kinda). He's actually a stray cat, but I never like to tell my cat to do what I tell it to, so I just let it where it wants to stay.
When it wants to stay at home or sleep with me, I let it. But if it wants to go out, it's OK. My cat can even go out for a few days before coming back home...lol
